It is an honor to work in the Marked Tree School District.  Since the fall of 2002, I have worked in some capacity at our district.  My journey in Marked Tree started off as a science teacher and coach before moving to the principal in 2009.  Eventually, I became the superintendent in 2017.  As I have said before, Marked Tree isn't part of my journey, it is my destination.  There is no place I'd rather be and no kids I'd rather work with than the students of this district.

Our teachers are at the heart of this mission, working collaboratively through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to ensure each student reaches their full potential. By sharing best practices, analyzing student data, and refining instructional strategies, our educators create learning environments where all students can thrive.

Beyond the classroom, our students have access to a wide array of opportunities through active clubs and organizations that enrich their academic and social experiences. Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are second to none, equipping students with valuable skills and certifications. From earning industry-recognized credentials to participating in innovative programs like the Steel Mill Academy and Construction Management, our students are preparing for a bright future. Additionally, we are proud to transport students to college classes and career tech programs, opening doors to higher education and high-demand careers.

Safety and security remain a top priority for our district. We have made significant investments to ensure a secure learning environment, including the installation of cameras in every classroom, keyless entry systems, School Resource Officers (SROs) on campus, and a state-of-the-art weapons detection system. These measures allow students and staff to focus on learning and growing in a safe and supportive setting.

We also take great pride in our outstanding athletic programs, which not only build strong athletes but also instill values like teamwork, perseverance, and school pride. Whether competing on the field, court, or track, our student-athletes consistently demonstrate excellence and sportsmanship.
