Mon- Tues- ACT tests for Jrs. Wed- Thurs- Fri- Dr. Seuss Day at elementary! Dress up as your favorite Dr. Seuss character. Upcoming Events March 6- Info about how to order Spring/Class pictures will be sent home for elementary. Mr. TC's bus route will change for the next few days. After the elementary students load the bus at 3:05, they will be brought home. This will put elementary students home about 10 minutes before they typically arrive. The bus will return to the high school and those students will load.

Good luck to our Sr. Girls and Boys teams as they compete for a district championship tonight in Mammoth Springs. Tipoff is at 6:00. We believe games will be streamed on YouTube. We will post a link to our Facebook page as soon as the link goes live. Here is your next week at MTSD... Sat.- Youth Sports will have their last in-person sign-up at the gym from 9:00-10:00 Mon.- Presidents' Day (No School) Tues.- Elementary Class and Spring Pictures. Spring pictures are optional, but the picture form must be returned if you want your child to take spring pictures. Everyone will be photographed for the class picture. Pennies for Paws donations begin. Students may bring donations for the Marked Tree Animal Rescue. Wed.- HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS WILL TAKE CIVICS EXAM Fri.- Elementary wear Tribe Colors. Balfour will be at HS to take payments for seniors and juniors. Basketball Regionals are next week. We will share a bracket as soon as we have one available.

After a double overtime win for our girls, both MTHS teams advance to the district finals tonight at Mammoth Springs. Make sure you come support them!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday and Happy Valentine's Week! Here is what is happening this week at MTSD! Monday: Tuesday: Wear Red, White, or Pink Day. Valentine’s Day Parties at 1:45pm Wednesday: Thursday: Parent Teacher Conferences. Early Dismissal at 2:05pm, Sr Boys/Girls district tournament @ Mammoth Spring 5:15/6:30 start times Friday: Tribe Colors. Sr Girls/Boys district tournament @ Mammoth Spring 6:00/7:15 start times (PENDING THURSDAY RESULTS) On Sat., Feb. 18th, MTYS will have their last in-person sign up at the gym on the elementary campus. The Kristi Kreme fundraiser pick-up has been moved to Wednesday, February 15.

Tonight was a great night. We honored some state champs, we announced our Hall of Fame, and we swept EPC in basketball. Thank you for coming out and supporting us. Once and Indian, Always an Indian.

Out of an abundance of caution, Marked Tree School District will utilize another AMI day on Friday, February 3. There are areas around the school that are frozen and will refreeze tonight. We must keep our kids, parents, and staff safe. We are sorry for the delay, but we wanted to make the best decision possible. Students should complete AMI packet 4.

MTSD is making arrangements to use the school as a warming station if any portion of town experiences power outages. We will have details soon.

As you know, there is winter weather moving into our area tonight. In addition, there is second system due to arrive around 2:00 p.m. tomorrow which would create havoc during dismissal. In an effort to help you plan ahead, Marked Tree School District will not be in session tomorrow. Students should complete Day #1 from their AMI packet. Stay safe, Marked Tree!

It will be a short, but eventful week at MTSD...here is what is coming up! Monday: MLK Holiday (No School) Tuesday: Report cards will be sent home. Basketball at home vs Hillcrest at 4:00. Wednesday: Thursday: Friday: 100th DAY OF SCHOOL CELEBRATION AT ELEMENTARY! For 100th day of school, students can wear 100 items or dress like they are 100 years old. Students can also wear tribe colors. We will give 2nd Quarter Awards at the elementary. 1st-3rd Grade will be at 2:00 pm. 4th-6th Grade will be at 2:30 pm. A notice will be attached to report cards if your child will receive an award. Basketball at home vs Mammoth Springs. Games begin at 4:00.

Final payment for Sr. Yearbook Pages must be made. February 1st is the deadline to turn in pictures for the senior yearbook pages. If a senior has purchased a page, they should get with a yearbook staff member ASAP to design the page or send in the completed page. The elementary storm shelter will be opened at 2:00. Enter through the main entrance and proceed down the hallway. The storm shelter is the first door in the right. If the need arises, the high school storm shelter will be opened later.
