Just a reminder... Tomorrow at elem- Tribe Day! Students wear tribe colors! Tomorrow at high school- Mini-Olympics. Students wear class colors. It will begin at 2:00 p.m. This event is open to the public. Be ready for some tired kids (and teachers) tomorrow!

Homecoming Day 1 was a success! Don’t forget the Bonfire is tonight at 7:00. We will be at the practice field right next to the elementary school.

On Sept. 29th and Sept. 30th, our district is hosting an Emergency Active Attack Response scenario. The Poinsett County Sheriff's Department anticipates 75 to 100 police officers, fire fighters, EMTs, and other First Responders. On these days, you will see many emergency vehicles on our campuses. You might hear sirens at different times throughout the day and may see a helicopter landing on our football field. This is all part of training. Please do not be alarmed. Our school will not be in session on these days due to fall break. We appreciate the Poinsett County Sheriff's Department for working to protect our students and community.

It’s going to be a busy week, MTSD! Here is a rundown of this week! Monday- 9 Weeks Tests at high school. All even periods. Bonfire at the practice field starting at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday- 9 weeks tests at high school. All odd periods. Wednesday- Mini-Olympics at the football field. Start time is 2:00. This is open to the public. This will also be Tribe Day for the elementary. Thursday- Pep Rally at the football field. Start time is 2:00. This is open to the public. Tennis will play at Allen Park vs. CRA. Jr. Indians will travel to Marianna Lee. Kickoff is at 7:00. Friday- Parade Day! The parade route and times will be shared later this week! Royalty will walk at the football field starting at 6:00 p.m. The game will kickoff at 7:00. Upcoming Events Fall Break- Sept. 26- Oct. 7 Vaccination Clinic- Oct. 18th (only for students who have been contacted) HS Pink Week Oct. 17-21 Flu Shot Clinic- Oct. 31 ES Red Ribbon Week Oct. 24-31 Several students have not submitted their free/reduced lunch form. These forms are vital for our school district and our lunch program. If your students hasn’t submitted this or we have contacted you the past week, please make sure your student brings these forms this week. We look forward to a fun-filled week with our students, alumni, and community!

How does Mrs. Harrington’s art class take advantage of a nice, sunny day? They do some Urban Sketching! Students go out and look for a building or landmark that resonates with them and they sketch it out. These students loved this and can’t wait to show their finished piece.
