Thank you for your patience and cooperation on Friday! Our FFA Chapter is sending supplies down to Wynne this week. Please help their community! You can bring any supplies that you would like to donate to our high school principals office. Westside’s FFA Chapter is going down to Wynne and will pick up items from the school Tuesday Morning! Baseball vs. EPC in MT at 4:00 Wednesday: Kindergarten Cap and gown pictures. Girls can wear a spring dress and boys a solid color button up shirt. Due to the threat of significant weather, MTSD will dismiss at 1:15 at the elementary school and 1:30 at the high school. Storm shelters will be open on both campuses by 2:30. You can enter the elementary storm shelter through the main entrance and enter the high school through the auditorium (the old entrance).

Parents, There is an enhanced risk of significant weather tomorrow. Currently, it looks like the weather will arrive around 3:00 when we are dismissing. Our concern is that around dismissal the entire community is on the move. This risk to our community causes us great concern. Therefore, our approach over the past few years has been to ensure that we dismiss early enough for kids and buses to get home or to hold buses if it didn’t appear significant weather would last too long after our regular dismissal. While we don’t know what the weather will bring tomorrow, we wanted to let you know that we will be watching the weather very closely and that we might need to adjust our day. As always, instruction will take place and we will take attendance. We do not want for you to keep you child home. However, we want to help make sure our entire community stays safe. Please have your phone around you tomorrow and check regularly on social media.

Spring Break is over and we are geared up and ready to go! We can’t wait to see the kids tomorrow. Here is what is happening this week at MTSD! Monday: Tuesday: Any Jr. who missed the ACT will take their makeup test. Wednesday: Thursday: Certain students will be taking the ACT WorkKeys assessment. Friday: Elementary students will wear Tribe colors. Upcoming: April 3rd- Report Cards April 7- Good Friday (No School) April 10- Professional Development (No School) April 22nd - Prom May 16 - Graduation We will start including our spring sports in the text next week. Baseball and Softball seasons are in full swing! Come out and support the teams as Softball plays in the Bearcat Blast on March 17th and 18th at Southside Complex in Jonesboro and Baseball plays in the NEA Sports Spring Break Classic March 20th and 21st at Bay!

Getting closer to tip-off!

Pep-Bus Information: Pep-bus will leave the high school Friday at 1:30pm. Students riding were given their shirts today at school and are asked to wear them to the game in support. The anticipated return time of the pep-bus will between 12:00-12:30 Friday night. Due to the security policy of the convention center, students will not be allowed to carry in purses or bags to the game unless they meet the size requirements of the clear bag policy.

There will be a community pep-rally for our basketball team at 12:45 on Thursday. This is right before our basketball team will leave at 1:30. We would love for everyone to come help us send off our players! There is a new link for tickets. Congrats to our Sr. Indians for making it to the 1A State Championship! Our team will play Friday at 7:45 pm. There will be no school on Friday. We want to allow all of our families and students an opportunity to travel to the game without having to rush. This will be a great week for us.
